Manchester has hit its highest level of office space under construction since the recession.
Research by UrbInfo has shown that as of August 2018 there is 1,543,394 sqft of office space under construction across central Manchester. This is the highest amount under construction at any one time since the recession.
Key schemes which have started on site recently include 165,000 sqft of space at Ask Real Estate's 100 Embankment scheme in central Salford and English Cities Fund's 263,000 sqft Two New Bailey, which is due for completion towards the end of 2019.
Meanwhile, several smaller office schemes have also started construction this summer. Among these are English Cities Fund's Riverside House project, which will deliver 13,000 sqft of office space behind a retained Victorian facade in Salford's booming New Bailey district; and Trinity Court, which is Helical's refurbishment of a prominent John Dalton Street office building.
Allied London started site clearance in July at their 197,000 sqft Manchester Goods Yard scheme, which is the first phase of their enormous Enterprise City district. Full construction will start here in 2019.
